Dr. Manpreet Chhabra is a board-certified ophthalmologist with focus on pediatric ophthalmology and related conditions. He finished his medical degree at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India and did his ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio and pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at the Northwestern University in Chicago.
Dr. Chhabra is a member of various societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Texas Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society amongst others. Dr. Chhabra has published articles in scientific journals in his field and authored textbook chapters and has presented in national and international meetings. He has also served as a reviewer for professional ophthalmology journals. He is actively engaged in research to further the advances in medicine and serves as the Principal Investigator for several research trials and is a part of Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) funded by the National Eye Institute. He has won many awards including the “best poster” award for his research work at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in Chicago in 2012.
Dr. Chhabra derives fulfilment from his charitable contributions and has participated as the lead surgeon in humanitarian mission trips to Central and South America. He has a compassionate approach towards his patients and their families and is involved and active in creating awareness for the eye conditions in the local communities. Dr Chhabra practiced in the Midwest for a number of years before he and his family relocated to San Antonio in 2016 and call the Alamo City their home. Dr Chhabra has over two decades of clinical experience in his field and practiced locally in town for several years touching the lives of so many families and decided to venture out on his own to serve the needs of the community better.
Outside of medicine, he loves to spend time with his family and likes to travel and enjoy outdoor activities and sports.
